SCHOOL VISITATION DAY: FRIDAY, APRIL 30, 2010



Q: Why are we visiting schools again?

A: You asked for it! Through a survey administered last year, the faculty overwhelmingly requested to use this year's Professional Development Day to visit other schools.

Q: Will I get a stipend to cover my expenses for the day?

A: Yes! Each faculty member visitng a school on Friday, April 30 will receive $25 for a school visit within the Westchester/Fairfield Counties and $50 for a school visit beyond these county lines. The stipends will be delivered by Wednesday, April 28.

Q: What happens if I need support with my school visitation at any time?

Q: How will this School Visitation Day be different from others in the past?

A: This time you are asked to attend with at least one other person. In addition, you will be expected to complete a Reflection Sheet after the visit (click on the page to the right of this screen titled "Reflection Sheet") This template will allow you and others to share your expectations, experiences, and reflections from the School Visitation Day.

Q: What happens after our visit?

A: We encourage you to share your observations and reflections at grade level, department, and division meetings. In addition, we will use some time during our Faculty Luncheon on Friday, May 7 to discuss discuss our School Visitation experiences with the purpose of providing further opportunities for the faculty to discuss how these experiences might influence our daily practices.
